A truly “infamous” pattern from W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. This pattern was introduced by Case in their 2000 catalog. It was named after Case founder, J. Russell “Russ” Case – a Russlock. It is a linerlock that was designed for more of a one-handed use, however many find it necessary to use both hands. There is an extended tang that resolves into the opening lever which is gimped, often called a “flipper” – even though that is not quite accurate because of the common need for two-handed operation. The pattern is uniquely manufactured by Case (currently). The late Master KnifeMaker (from Case), Tommy Hart, designed the sleek body which was inspired by the retired Jack Knife pattern.
